Daisy J. Baez, M.A.

Daisy J. Baez, president and CEO, is a health care executive with strong professional and business credentials who founded Consulting Management Solutions, Inc., a health care consulting company specializing in licensing, accreditation, and regulatory compliance for national and locally based organizations. She is a social worker and a highly decorated U.S. Army Veteran. 

 

As a health care executive for various national and local health care companies including HCA, Tenet, and HealthSouth, she rose through the ranks from hospital social worker to hospital vice president. She served in a variety of levels of care including acute care, rehabilitation, long term acute care, skilled nursing, behavioral health, and substance abuse.

 

She served as Florida State Representative for district #114 for the 2016-2017 legislative session, and is the first Dominican American ever elected to a statewide office in Florida. In the

legislature she served in the Health Care Appropriations, Health Care Innovation, Health & Human Services, Local Federal and Veterans Affairs, and Oversight Transparency & Administration committees. During her first session in the legislature, her bill National Guard Foundation Reauthorization was passed unanimously.

 

She is the founder and Executive Director of the Dominican Health Care Association of Florida, an organization uniting and supporting Dominican American physicians.  She also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Merrick House Museum, is a member of the Barry University Graduate Health Professions Advisory Board, and past president of the Miami-Dade County Democratic Hispanic Caucus.

She served in the U.S. Army, 1st Cavalry Division, Division Surgeon’s Office receiving an Army Commendation Medal, two, Army Achievement Medals, multiple Department of Defense Certificate of Achievement, several Department of the Army Certificate of Achievement, as well as 1st Cavalry Division Soldier of the Quarter and 15th Medical Battalion Soldier of the Month.

 

Daisy received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from University of Central Texas, Killeen, TX; and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, TX.

 

Daisy resides in Coral Gables, Florida, and has one daughter.
